SAN (StyreneAcrylonitrile) is
a copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile.
It offers superior mechanical
properties, chemical resistance
and heat resistance in comparison
with general purpose polystyrene
resin. The product shows comparable
levels of impact, heat and chemical
resistance with PMMA. Surface
gloss, dimensional stability,
mechanical strength and electrical
properties of SAN are superior
to GPPS, and it can be more easily
processed than acrylic resins.
In general, due to the nature
of the molecular structure(AN
group in SAN), SAN resin tends
to be yellowish and lose the transparency
after injection molding.
